With the Sun in your return chart's 11th house, many astrologers would read a year of friends, groups, networks and hopes.

The return moment is found by searching for the Sun's apparent longitude with Astronomy Engine. Solar returns use the tropical zodiac. Houses are whole-sign houses from the return Ascendant. How ChartLumen calculates

What a solar return chart is

Every year, on or within a day of your birthday, the Sun comes back to the exact degree it held when you were born. A chart cast for that moment is your solar return, and astrologers read it as a sketch of the year ahead, from one birthday to the next.

Why the time can differ from your birth time

A year is not a whole number of days, so the return happens at a different clock time each year, and sometimes on the day before or after your birthday. That is why the calculator searches for the exact moment rather than reusing your birth time.

Does location matter?

The Sun's return moment is the same everywhere, but the Ascendant and houses depend on where you are. Many astrologers use the place you will actually be on your birthday; some prefer the place you live. Try both and compare.

How to read the three results

The return Ascendant colours the tone of the year. The house the Sun falls in shows where your attention gathers. The return Moon describes the emotional weather. Read them alongside your natal chart rather than on their own.
